Yeah, unfortunately gaming devs seem to excel in one particular genre or area (usually) and when they stray too far from that, we get some strange outcomes.
Can someone logically explain why multiple discs are a problem? If gamers are that lazy to get off their ar*e every 10-15 hours we seriously have a problem.
With the amount of whining in here I think some people need to evaluate why they play games...
You guys are turned off by 1 review? Why don't you at least play it for yourselves before the whole 'doom and gloom' mentality sets in...
JRPG's will always be a niche market and I expect the reviews to reflect this.
I'm guessing you don't see the irony surrounding Bladestars post....
He is arguing the point about how entrenched the brands become in someone's mind and it is obviously hard to counteract that and you guys are the epitome of the whole argument. Let me ask you this, why did you buy a PS3? It wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that it was the continuation of the Sony brand, with which I am sure you had previously owned a PS1 & 2?
Let me ask you this also,...
Your ignorance is why the US is not respected in the international community, please refrain from posting your 'opinions' if you can't even justify your statements. Sorry Champ, the US is the third biggest videogame market, Oh look at that, Europe is the second biggest.

At least they actually get some movies. Australians don't even have the video marketplace AT ALL.
Stuff the booth babes... go to the MS offices instead... :)
Guys I understand you are trying to promote your site, that doesn't bother me at all, but I have to say it isn't a well constructed review.
What does this actually mean:
"Left 4 Dead plays almost identical to Resident Evil. Not only does it play like the earlier game, but it looks almost identical to it also. There is no improvement in the graphics either, which is a disappointment for a game that obviously gets its inspiration from the Playstation games of the ...
possibly one of the stupidest comments I have ever seen on N4G and that's saying a lot...
Good point, so you see the actual studio as the ones holding back the creative developers?
Oh, this game doesn't look so great. Unfortunately it isn't such a bad concept, it just wasn't pulled off effectively.
and they say games can't lead to exercise.
" f*ck you !
i will post what i want, were i want, when i want !
So if you dont like it !
Well i guess its tough sh*t !
Peace !"
Just like to say, thanks for the msg Cuppa, you have just proven how feeble minded you are, with pathetic msg's like that. Another victim on the 'block' list. You are the epitome of everything that is bad with fanboys today... Peace :)
That post is illegible? Here is a nice fact for you though, I don't own a PS3, I just despise irrational people. If you don't have something constructive to say, don't bother saying it.
"This type of behaviour is not civilised"... and piracy is?
I know DRM isn't effective (the piracy rates of many games are proof of this) but what do you expect these companies to do. As stated by several people DRM or DRM-free titles basically have the same piracy rate, those that claim they pirate because of Draconian DRM are fooling themselves, your stealing off individuals and corporations who are also trying to make a living.
I certainly don't have the...
I don't have time to argue with irrational people, so I will just give you this.

Yep, I fear those days are gone. Jesus, apparently If I play a game that scored less than 8.5 I'm playing a flop? Could have fooled me, an 8.5 used to be a fantastic score...
You would expect both services to experience problems when a massive influx of people suddenly all scramble to use the service (ie, last holidays).
Lets hope these issues will be taken care of this time, though I expect the NXE to have a few teething problems...
I have actually, funny enough and that is why I will stand by my statement, there is only so much word-of-mouth will be effective. I actually see word-of-mouth as a combination of current and the after affect of good, aggressive marketing. So yes, I'm not disregarding word-of-mouth but I'm also highlighting the need for more effective advertising as the first step.
I don't want Sony to rest on its' laurels and expect word-of-mouth to be their main form of 'advertising'.

But then again it seems to be the same companies that innovate over and over again. Some just don't seem to have the talent to innovate like Valve and should just stick to making what they are comfortable with. Agree/Disagree?
